Your water heater is essential to your comfort. While it may not be something you think about very often, you likely use hot water every day. To keep your water heater running properly for years to come, we recommend having your water heater serviced annually to avoid system failures and the need for repairs.

Corrosion, bacteria/mineral buildup, thermostat errors, issues with your burner/heat source, gas connection/flow problems, and faulty temperature/pressure relief valves are some of the most common reasons why your water heater may need repairs. These issues can lead to water leaks which can cause serious damage to your home, or worse, gas leaks which can threaten the safety of you and your family.

Loss of a drain valve, too high of water pressure, and cracks in your water heater’s storage tank can cause to carbon monoxide leaks which can be fatal! If there has been an ongoing carbon monoxide leak and your carbon monoxide detector goes off or you start to notice signs of carbon monoxide poisoning, everyone should evacuate the building and 911 should be called immediately. Because carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, it can be hard to detect a leak. If you hear a hissing sound coming from your water heater or notice sooty, brown, or yellow staining around your water heater, you should shut off your gas, open your windows to air out your home, and call an HVAC technician to come out right away.

If you’re lucky, the issues may be minor and only require parts of your water heater to be repaired or replaced. Minor repairs that are considerably more affordable than a full replacement.

A water heater repair is normally cheaper than a replacement. However, over time multiple repairs can become costly. Without seeing and/or knowing the system we can’t give an exact estimate. Reach out to us and we’d be happy to help.

Create a clear path to the water heater so we can easily perform the diagnostic checks and maintenance. We will also need some space for our tools.

A trained technician will arrive and once shown the system, will begin evaluating the water heater. Once the issues are found either replacement parts will be installed or we will recommend a new water heater to be installed at a later date.
